I help authors of both academic and trade nonfiction books develop their manuscripts for publication.

Phase I: Revision Plan — I read your entire book proposal or manuscript and provide you with a detailed revision plan focused on structure, narrative, and flow.

Depending on the project, some authors need or want to make the proposed revisions themselves. Others prefer a bit more support—that’s for Phase II below.

Phase II: Hands-On Editing — Once we agree on a revision plan, I make most of the revisions for you using track changes. These revisions involve moving text around, cutting text we decide should be removed, proposing new text to add, and so on. I take the edits as far as I can on my own and leave detailed placeholders for any new pieces that need to be drafted by the author.
